‘Adirondack Explorer’ editor to give paddling slide show
The show, which starts at 8 p.m., is based on his new guidebook, Adirondack Paddling: 60 Great Flatwater Adventures, published by Lost Pond Press and the Adirondack Mountain Club. In discussing his book, Brown will focus on paddling trips made possible by state land deals over the past 15 years–as well as new trips on the horizon.
He also will give an update on his paddlers’ rights case. Brown was sued after canoeing through private property. This year, a state judge dismissed the lawsuit, ruling that the public had a right to paddle the waterway in question. However, the landowners are appealing.
Brown will give the same slide show at the Keene Valley Library at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Adirondack Paddling describes 60 day trips throughout the Adirondack Park (with suggestions for multiday trips in an appendix). It contains more than 100 color photographs of waterways, wildlife, and wildflowers as well as color maps of all the routes. It sells for $24.95.
