Mike Virtanen’s account of Hudson canoe trip

By Phil Brown

As I mentioned in my last post, Mike Virtanen and I took a canoe trip down the upper Hudson last week with officials from the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Adirondack Nature Conservancy. Mike wrote about the adventure for the Associated Press. You can read the story online and view a gallery of photos by AP’s Mike Groll. Together, they give you a real feel for what this fabulous stretch of wild river is like.

As noted in my previous post, much of the action in Mike’s new novel, The River’s Tale, takes place along this stretch of the Hudson
